Artists and Storytellers

The Eastern is San Diego’s newest semi-professional theatre.

The Eastern exists to provide artists with a space to collaborate, create and grow. We are
helmed by the three-person creative team of Stephen Schmitz (Producing Artistic Director),
Justin Allen Slagle (Managing Artistic Director) and Vanessa Dinning (Artistic Advisor/Resident
Brit).
